Laurel Gardner, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Gardner was born in Miami, FL and raised with a parade of
cats and dogs of her own. She graduated from Auburn
University’s College of Veterinary Medicine as a proud member of
the Class of 1986, earning a dual degree in Biology that same
year. Having married into a long time Auburn family, she spent the
next 33 years doing primarily relief work in Auburn, Opelika and
surrounding areas. Her passion gradually became focused on
felines and their amazing owners.
Dr. Gardner is married to Mike, has one son, Stan, who is married
to Rebekah, and are proud parents to Dr. Gardner’s
grandchildren, Miles and Charlotte. Feline friend Dickens
O’Malley and “grand-dog” Finn round out the family.
Dr. Gardner is a member of the the American Veterinary Medical
Association and Auburn Community Church. She holds past
certification with Fear Free Pets, and is a former member of the
American Association of Feline Practitioners and the Cornell
Feline Health Center.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, horseback riding, doing
yard work, hiking and especially mentoring young people.
In 2015, Dr. Gardner completed a rim-to-rim hike of the Grand
Canyon covering 27.5 miles in four days which, after completing
veterinary school, she counts as one of her greatest
accomplishments.
