Heather Rodriguez, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Heather Rodriguez is a Florida native. She was raised on a small hobby farm in Micanopy, (a small town outside of Gainesville, Florida). There, her passion for animals grew. She completed her bachelor’s degree in animal sciences from the University of Florida and in 2013 graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Shortly after graduation, Heather completed her certification in Chinese Veterinary Acupuncture from Chi University. She believes the most rewarding aspect of veterinary medicine is the relationships built with pets and their people. Heather feels the most important part of her job is to improve pet owner’s knowledge base so they are able to make the most informed decisions about pet care. One of her favorite veterinary experiences was volunteering as a trail veterinarian with the Iditarod in 2020. There is nothing like camping outside the Alaska Range with the northern lights swirling over head and caring for these high energy dogs that absolutely love running. Dr. Rodriguez spends most of her spare time camping and hiking with her husband, son, and their standard poodle “Charlie.”
